Welcome to the Connecting Families Website.
Families that live in Idaho who experience life with a disability often have a difficult time finding and receiving the services necessary to meet their highest levels of self reliance, independence and inclusion in their home communities. Although we are rated as the 13th largest state, we are the 7th most rural state in the United States which creates challenges for families searching for information, resources and support. The Idaho Family Support 360 Project is dedicated to supporting and enhancing the network of resources available to families in rural and urban areas of the state. This five year grant will build the Connecting Families Website which will house a catalog of resources, distribute a statewide newsletter, Making Connections, and establish a model one-stop resource pilot program, Family Resource Center in the rural five county area that includes Latah, Nez Perce, Idaho, Clearwater and Lewis Counties.
As we enter year three of our five year grant, we are establishing a second
Family Resource Center in the southeastern section of Idaho that
includes Jefferson, Custer, Butte, Fremont, Bonneville, Lemhi, Clark, Madison,
and Teton counties.
Visit the site often and watch the growth and changes as we roll out family oriented resources. We welcome your input and insights on developing a network of resources for the unique needs of Idaho families. Funds to establish and maintain the Family Support 360 Implementation Project Website were granted through the Administration on Developmental Disabilities.
