Text Box: Traveling for any family can be a challenge.  The secret to success is to be organized and prepared for anything.  The same can be true for a family that is traveling with a family member who has a disability.  Karen Correll, iCan News Source, has a few more suggestions to make the trip an enjoyable one.
8 tips for better travel
1. Consider scheduling your flight for a less stimulating time.
2. For a child who will not be happy seated and belted in a plane, consider a train ride.  There are more opportunity  to move around and play on a train.
3. If you have never traveled with your child before or your child gets queasy, talk

4. Bring extra snacks and drinks.
5. Write down all medications, dosages, times, doctor’s names and numbers.
6. Put all your information in a bright colored folder so you can find it.
7. Pack comfort items, i.e. stuffed animal, blanket, and your sense of humor.
8. If you are traveling to a climate that requires outerwear and leaving from a climate that does not require it, dress your children in coat, hat, scarf, and mittens, and allow them to get used to the new experience around the
